7:30 - 8:45pm Communication Skills for Leaders Why don’t they do what we ask them to??  Is the problem with them or with me?  What are some of the common problems we all have with communication and how can we become better communicators?
9:00 - 10:15pm Listening Skills How to listen and what to listen for!   Hone your listening skills as we analyze vocal successes and problems and talk about how to ‘fix it’

9:00 - 10:15am The Director as a Teacher There is so much more to being a director than waving your arms!!  Explore learning styles and the differences in adult learners.  Analyze teaching styles and tools to add to your toolbox  as a teacher.
10:30 - Noon Rehearsal Planning & Techniques You know when you have a rehearsal that really gets a lot accomplished and has your chorus members so jazzed you know they won’t sleep until 2:00 am the next morning!    How do you plan for success like that?  Explore some tips to make it an every week affair!
Noon - 1:30pm Lunch (on your own)  
1:30 - 2:45pm Vocal Production for Region 19 Something old, something new – a lot that’s borrowed, tailored for you.  Having explored the judges’ remarks for the past several competition seasons, let’s talk about how to get you to the next level vocally.
3:00 - 4:15pm Kinesthesia and You Explore the possibilities of using kinesthesia to help cement the vocal lessons you’re teaching and apply them to the songs you’re singing.
4:30 - 5:45pm Characterization Watch a series of examples of characterization and discuss how the visual elements come together to affect all four judging categories.
5:45 - 7:30pm Dinner (on your own)  
7:30 - 8:45pm Analyzing Directing Skills Observe several directors from the chorus point of view as they direct their regional or international competitions.  Discuss the various movements they use to conduct the music and try some on for size!
9:00 - 10:15pm Director Roundtable Your chance to visit with the other directors attending and discuss some problems/challenges/opportunities you have in common.

9:00 - 10:15am Competition Preparation When does it start?  How to get from where you are now to the next level?  Building a team and keeping it fun!
10:30 - 11:45am Stress Management Being a chorus director is such a multifaceted job – and it can feel like it’s a 24/7 responsibility.  How do you keep it in perspective with the rest of your life?  How can you be the best you while you do it?
11:45am - Noon Weekend Wrap-Up
