The Function of the RMT:

  • Serves as middle management and liaison to the international organization

  • Assesses the educational needs of the region, and plans programs to meet those needs

  • Develops long-range plans based on the goals and values of the regional membership

  • Oversees and evaluates the implementation of long-range plans

  • Accepts fiduciary responsibility for the region

  • Monitors chapter compliance with corporate and regional bylaws, international policies and administrative procedures

  • Provides counseling to individual chapters

  • Ensures open communication at all levels of the region

 

Communications/Technology Coordinator: 

Barb Falkinburg (bfalkinburg@comcast.net), Upper Chesapeake

  • Maintains communication link between the international organization and the region

  • International appointment

 

Director Coordinator: 

Niki Wakefield (nikiwakefield2000@yahoo.com), Pride of Baltimore

  • Represents the interests of the regional directors

  • Elected position by the regional chorus directors

Education Coordinator:  

Gayle Doughtie (gayle.doughtie@yahoo.com), Pride of Baltimore

  • Develops, coordinates and monitors education programs

  • Coordinates the activities of the Quartet Chorus

  • Coordinates the activities of the Director Certification Program (DCP)

  • Approves Chapter-at-Large quartets for public performances

  • International appointment

Events Coordinator: 

Liz Danielski (hotpbari@comcast.net), Red Rose City

  • Coordinates the physical aspects of all regional meetings and events, including regional competitions

  • Regional appointment

Finance Coordinator: 

Bonnie Kerr Robbins (kerrrobbin@aol.com), Pride of Baltimore

  • Prepares and submits the annual budget

  • Oversees the health and management of regional finances

  • Regional appointment

Marketing Coordinator:   

Fran King (zaksgigi@gmail.com), Greater Harrisburg

  • Develops and provides marketing and public relations programs that promote chapter and regional events, and membership growth and retention

  • Plans and implements marketing and public relations programs to increase membership growth and retention

  • Designs and implements plans to market events and products

Membership Coordinator:   

Pat Gasper (ghlvcbass@rcn.com), Lehigh Valley/Greater Harrisburg

  • Represents the interests of the chapter management and membership on the RMT

  • Communicates with chapter presidents/team leaders to assess their needs and the needs of their chapters

  • Communicates chapter presidents/team leaders’ and chapters’ needs and issues to the regional management team

  • Provides and facilitates a forum for chapter presidents/team leaders at regional events

Team Coordinator: 

Linda Brown (tpoycbass@comcast.net), Upper Chesapeake/Greater Harrisburg

  • Facilitates management team meetings

  • Coordinates management team meeting agendas

  • Oversees regional standing rules and reviews chapters' standing rules

  • Elected position by regional membership

  • Monitor the implementation of the Region's long range plans

 

THINKING ABOUT GETTING INVOLVED IN YOUR REGION?

This is your opportunity for you to participate in the selection of nominees for appointment/election to the Regional Management Team.  Nominees will be selected to fill the following positions for the two-year term beginning May 1, 2009, and ending April 30, 2011 (see above for a short job descriptions): 

  • Communication Coordinator

  • Directors Coordinator

  • Finance Coordinator

  • Team Coordinator

The IDEAL potential nominee should work well on her own and as a team member to define and pursue goals, and to carry out the aims of the region and Sweet Adelines International.  Her qualifications should also include the following:

  • Positive, objective attitude

  • Good listening skills

  • Critical and analytical thinking, as well as imaginative and creative thinking

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge and ability to use available resources

  • Ability to adapt easily to different environments

  •  Ability to relate to a variety of personality types

  • Training and experience in a field which could be of value to the regional management team

  • Experience in Sweet Adelines International as a chapter, regional, or international officer, committee chair or member

Any member of the region (including a CAL member) who is good standing with the chapter, regional and international organizations is eligible to submit an application for any position on the RMT.
